A MOVIE!? PRODUCT PLACEMENT!? That actually offends me as a cusumer that some executive out there thinks I'm unintelligent enough to give my money to that douche!
THERE ARE BETTER COMEDIANS ON YOUTUBE. TAKE NIGAHIGA FOR EXAMPLE. THAT CHANNEL HAS MUCH BETTER VIDEOS THAN FRED. EVEN THEY GOT A MOVIE. WELL, AS THEY WOULD SAY IT.
OK, Rantee, pardon my french, but calm the fuck down. Fred's popularity is not a sign of YouTube's "Secret Agenda" it's a sign of the times. The Bush administration has pushed the world into this state of unintelligence, smart entertainment is not fashionable. This is the mainstream, YouTube has gone mainstream, and is catering to the mainstream audience. What this audience wants is something short and stupid that they can get a quick chuckle out of. If this goes out of style, YouTube will pick up on it, and promote something else. I hope it's UltraNeko, ahhhhhhh.....
Ahem! Sorry about that. I'm a lonley teenage bronckin' buck, but without a pink carnation and a pickup truck.
Serioudly though, Saying that YouTube has a political or social agenda is like saying that Disney does. They are only interested in one thing: the bottom line. They noticied the trend in what videos were popular, and those were the stupid videos, stuff like the Star Wars kid and Leave Britney Alone. They took notice of there trends, saw a channel that fit the trend, and promoted it. All YouTube is interested in is ad revenue. Trust me, once maninstream entertainment changes trends-and with films like "The Dark Knight," "Public Enemies," and "District 9" being pushed and becoming more popular, I think that day will come soon-YouTube will find a channel that matches the new trend and dump Fred.
It's not about keeping viewers in the dark, it's about capalizing on what's popular.
I hate Fred.
