I agree with everything on your list except \"Moon\". I can\'t really rank my favorite films of this year, and I also have a lot more than ten, but here are my favorite films of the year: -(500) Days Of Summer -Avatar -Coraline -District 9 (my #1 if I were to pick one) -Drag Me To Hell -Fantastic Mr. Fox -Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince -The House Of The Devil -Inglourious Basterds -Love Exposure -Pirate Radio -Star Trek -State Of Play -The Cat Piano (short films count right?) -The Hurt Locker -Thirst -Trick \'R Treat -Up In The Air -Up -Where The Wild Things Are -World\'s Greatest Dad -Zombieland
I miss Start Trek and Avatar from your list they are top runners for me. Coraline I didn\'t like that much and I haven\'t seen 500 days, Where the wild things are and Invictus although I\'m quite positive that I will love Invictus, not sure about the other two.
I like your top 10 list... and i have 2 say... I LOVED 500 days of summer as well.. But I wouldn\'t say where the wild things are was that good... yet again i didn\'t see the complete thing i just think it was ok. But I as James Cameron fan... would put Avatar in it... other then that... good list n.n
My top 10 movies of 2009: 10. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 9. Star Trek 8. The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus 7. Ponyo 6. Inglourious Basterds 5. Avatar 4. Knowing 3. Watchmen 2. District 9 1. Sherlock Holmes
I thought long and hard about this list for me, Star Trek was close but in the end I didn\'t really get blown away by Chris Pines Captain Kirk after I saw the movie again. Also Thirst was a HUGE surprise and took whatever spot Star Trek would fall in. Avatar just didn\'t make the list for me. Despite me giving it a gold and how amazing it was it didn\'t move me . That doesn\'t mean I can\'t give it the props it surely deserves it\'s just for my particular tastes I chose Coraline over Avatar as the better immersive cinematic experience.
10. Zombieland 9. Inglorious Basterds (Quentin\'s weakest film, but that\'s saying a lot) 8. Avatar 7. Where the Wild Things Are 6. Up 5. 500 Days of Summer 4. Coraline 3. Moon 2. The Hurt Locker 1. District 9
