It was a great start. I just think that you should say how many points will be deducted if there are personal attacks or off-topic conversations. Otherwise, nothing bad to say. Let's just see what happens with the upcoming debates.

It was a very civlized, fair debate.  Well done, guys.

I kind of feel the need to throw in my two cents on an argument from both sides.

Fury: The whole Deadpool thing didn't really seem to be so much an attack on the character, so much as an attempt to sell Stryker as the villian.  Wade Wilson's shtick is that he loves to talk and put his own signature stamp on a fight, and along comes Stryker, who sews his mouth shut and turns him into a puppet.  Asshole.

Distant: You defend it on the grounds as a mindless fun action film.  That was The Incredible Hulk.  Now I could see doing it with Wolverine every once in a while, but not every fight scene.  Not to mention, the Hulk manged to give us over-the-top action without forgetting the laws of physics.  In the Hulk vs Abomination fight scene, you felt the power behind every blow.  Not so with Wolverine's climax, where everything was fluttering with an (IMO) annoying weightlesness.

And then there's that shot of Wolverine walking away from the explosion.  Wow, most obiovus green-screen effect ever.

I'm really proud of the debate video. DistantJ and I made it because we both feel pretty strongly about the current state of film fans.  One of the things I learned in the 2 years of becoming a critic is that I really do love film , all kinds and I was extremely harsh on movies when I first started off. I stopped "expecting" things and started looking at film as art as well as a form of entertainment. In doing so I found myself enjoying many films that 2 years ago I wouldn't. Even the worst films I've managed to tone it down and just talk about why it doesn't work from a technical aspect and avoid those immature personal attacks on people.
Now my goal is to share what I've learned and hope to change people's bad habits. The debate showed we can talk about the film on different levels , we're doing what Siskel and Ebert did when they disagreed on a film and when they disagreed they delved into the film far deeper than for films that they did agree on. They reached a broader audience when they disagreed but they always kept it civil and always about the movie.

I really have no problems with the debates. Sure it was nice and civilized, but more importantly it was entertaining!  I partly agreed with both sides, I understood everyone arguments, all I want is more episodes!

P.S.
The green screen effects sucked ass in wolverine...
