Director Michael Bay has announced on his official website the release date for Transformers 3:

Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st, 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ilm meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.

I'm very excited. The first one was plain fun and the second one is one of the best films this year. a third film could make this a great trilogy.

Well, I just think that both TF movies were just simply "OK." I'm just hoping that after this third TF movie is over and done with, we can then hopefully have James Cameron, Peter Jackson, or Neil Blomkampf do a Beast Wars film! Grin

(p.s. Michael Bay better stay the fuck away from BW! Angry)

I still don't get all the hate for the second film. People confuse me sometimes.

I think a lot fo the hate stems from the hype.  Revenge of the Fallen was suppossed to be the transformers film.  Instead, it was a somewhat mediocre retread of the first film.  With many of the same problems (only the action sequences were actually improved, I felt), and even managed to make those problems worse.  The bots had even less characterization, and what there was was Wiggerbot 3000 #1 and Wiggerbot 3000 #2-er-Skids and Mudflap, who-regardless of if you thought they were racist-were not good characters.  Now, Starscream was done well, but Megatron went from the guy who gives the middle finger to a planet that eats other planets to "Mr. Fallen, may I lick your boots?"  Not to mention the fact that the plot was like an average episode of G1 stretched to two and a half hours, waaaayy too long for a story so simplistic.

So anyway, I'm iffy about TF3 at this point.  This is the first time I'll actually wait to see what the fans have to say before checking it out.

Other news on Transformers 3 is that it's supposed to be darker, have more character development, a more detailed story, and more on Bumblebee. For those who hated Transformers 2 . . .

Michael Bay did say this!

Since I liked Transformers 1 and 2 even with the "poor quality" (which I don't understand). So a better quality Transformers film could lead to the fan base coming back to the franchise.

I suggest, go see Transformers 3, try to lead it to making more money than Transformers 2, then we can see better quality Transformers films (yes, even if you hated Transformers 2).

Have a great day. Smiley

I think Bay is pushing this franchise to far. It's only a matter of time before it hits a brick wall and collapses. The first one sucked and the second one was only OK. The only reason I'm not very worried about this series is becaus I'm not a very big fan of Transformers.

I've though about this a lot more.  The only way Michael Bay will get my ticket for sure is if the movie takes place in Alternity.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Alternity_(species)

Optimus Prime's guns can shoot through time and Megatron's swords have infinite range.  Awesome.

You know, the first movie wasn't that bad. I wasn't a fan of it but i could still recognize through an unbiased eye, it wasn't that bad. Considering that the movie was made for the early to late teen audience it succeeded. I was always a gen 1 fan so i knew that the first Transformers movie wasn't made for me. Aside from the horrible attempts at comic relief and distorted action, the story was competent and well paced. This, however, doesn't mean i liked it but i wont shit on it.

The second movie, however...,pure shit. There is no redeeming factor in this movie. The action may have been better (and by better i mean distinguishable) but the rest of the movie felt like it had nothing to do with anything. I'm not being facetious when i say that, either, it really felt like there was no script for Transformers 2. I think the writers wrote the story as they drove to the set each day. The movie was a horrible insult to Transformer fans and cinema fans alike. Although, not as bad, it's in the same league as the atrocity, Aliens Vs Predator; Requiem. Half of the movie could have been removed and you would have gotten the same result...,it's that goddamn pointless. I'm not that guy to shit on people for liking something that i hate but, yeah, in this case i have to be that guy. If you like this movie you need to reassess your life because you're dragging society down.

So, yeah, i'll give you three guesses as to how i feel about another piece of shit movie from this franchise.
