Since the imdb boards have went nuts with this movie, I guess that it should warrant a discussion here on the FotFF forums.

"A team of highly-trained, combat mercenaries go on a black ops mission to South America to overthrow and execute a villainous dictator and his army, who has been causing devastation and chaos for the last 20 years but without facing the wrath of every enemy that comes their path including the dictator, his army, a former comrade and even a rogue fbi agent who will stop at nothing to stop the team from executing the dictator."

Sounds cliche, right? Of course but what made it have so much positive attention from many film fans? Not only that Stallone is directing and staring in the film, but he has managed to get a very big ensemble cast for his film that pays tribute to not only the testosterone filled action films of yesteryear but also of today with both the action icons of our last generation with some of today's generation! I mean look at the big cast!

    * Sylvester Stallone
    * Jason Statham
    * Mickey Rourke
    * Jet Li
    * Dolph Lundgren
    * Terry Crews
    * Eric Roberts
    * Stone Cold Steve Austin
    * Randy Couture
    * Gary Daniels

Plus, with a confirmed cameo from the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and with unconfirmed rumors that Bruce Willis will make a cameo as the much sought after Mr. Church who is a small but essential character in the film, it promises to a very heavy nostalgic revisit of action films in the past seems, and promises to be one hell of a good time!

So guys, what is your favorite part about this whole film project? Who do you like in the cast? Who should have been cast into the film? What are your comments of the film in general?

*chuckles*

Now that's funny!

So does anyone here think that they may turn this into a franchise since there are so many early positive talks? Pretty likely...

I want to see a much better fight with Jet Li and Jason Statham since their fight in their last movie together, "War" is just crappy and disappointing. Now, I hear that it will be a three way fight between them and B-movie actor, Gary Daniels! Lets see if they still have their stuff.

I hope this doesn't turn into a franchise- something this holy only deserves a one-time deal. Think of it this way- In the christian religion, Jesus came to forgive everyone of their sin's. It is told that he will one day come again to praise those who followed him and punish those that didn't blody blody blah. My point is When Jesus, (the expendables) comes twice, the world ends (even though I don't believe that religously)! Now, I'm sorry for getting all religious, but I don't want this to be some kind of franchise. Anyway, I am guessing a lot of the cast I going to get killed off- and when they get killed off there aren't many more action stars to fill their spots.
