Sorry to say... I hated it... My girl and I actually left after an hour. It just made no sense whatsoever and the action scenes, well, let's say if Michael Bay duct taped a camera to a large magnet, hit record and rolled it through a scrap yard, that'd look about the same.

The whole thing went so fast that neither of us could work out what was going on (a lot like the way I felt about the cartoon actually), and even the non-action scenes were annoying...

I also felt like the camera seemed to want me to see everything but what I actually wanted to. It was as if the robots weren't there (okay I know, they weren't, they're superimposed CG, but they could have at least focused on where they were going to be - we'd be trying to watch a robot fight while the camera focused on trees and the ground and panned past as if nothing was there. The other scenes were so incoherent, we'd just see metal flying at us and lots of explosions happening and we were never sure what was happening and why. In some battles they even had close ups on the robots landing and there'd be this huge mishmash of metal and dirt from the ground flying everywhere.

Unbelievable. Loved the first. Sorry Fury!

However, a lot of people liked this one, so I'd love to hear what you thought! Remember, opinions differ, and nobody is insulting anybody if they disagree, so please respect each other.

I am amazed that people who liked the first film hated this one. I myself was shocked when I realized I enjoyed the film. I looked over to my wife and said ,"uh oh" but I was even more amazed at how many people were foaming mad about this film. I went in looking for Bay to fix on what was lacking in the first movie knowing full well this was his version of the series. Now what pretty much irritates me is the bullying that goes on when a popular film like this is bashed and you end up liking it. The opinion may be an unpopular opinion online and within the critic community but I gotta believe way more people liked it and were just too intimidated to share their opinion after seeing they would get lynched. Why do I believe this?  Well we all know Box Office Success doesn't equal a good movie but you know what does equal a movie people are enjoying? When that movie is on the top 5 films for weeks. Transformers is still making money in the theaters which tells me one thing, people are enjoying it. A bad film falls off quickly, a film that's on the top 5 for weeks has to be hitting a chord with people.
I'd get into specifics but really my review says it all, the points are there. People said there's no plot, check out wiki, the plot is pretty lengthy, hell there's even a scene in the movie where Robowarrior (snicker, such a stupid name) says "Listen up! Here's the plot!". People said it's not funny, well , Comedy is the most subjective of categories, there's people out there who like to see people fall down and break bones trying to do a 360 on their skateboard over some stairs...there's people who don't.
I defend the film cuz I didn't see nearly this amount of hate for Wolverine Origins, a movie that deserved this kind of hate for. Wolverine Origins got a pass and TF2 is getting a lot of crap when you compare the 2 TF2 is a far superior and well made/produced film while Origins just exploited fans for a really piss poor origin story.

See, for this, you have to look further up into your post - it's just a matter of difference of opinion and what you went in looking for. I thought Wolverine was one of the best fun action movies I'd been to see at the cinema, and I thought it pissed all over Transformers 2, and I was similiarly "picked on" for thinking this and expressing it. If you ask me, Wolvering was a far, far better made film in every aspect. Again I guess it's just what you go looking for. I don't see how people can defend this one for being mindless and bash Wolverine for being... mindless. Tongue

I don't believe it was just a matter of difference in opinion when it comes to Wolverine Origins. I really try to look for something good in all films and who would enjoy it but too many issues made me hate Wolverine and make it "un-recommendable" (if that's not a word I just made it up) Wolverine was created by a studio that has been quoted to not care for fans or the audience. They just make stuff up as they go. Origins had serious production problems attached and the director Gavin Hood even stated that this was nowhere near the movie he had in mind making.
Things like that don't get a pass in my book. Now as ridiculous as it may sound TF2 is exactly the movie Bay wanted to make. When I compare Origins to TF2 , TF2 comes out on top in every department. The films cost almost the same but Wolverine's cgi doesn't even come close to the visual effects in TF2. Plot, as thin as both plots were the pacing was much tighter in TF2 than in Origins where the film jumped from character to character with no other reason than to advance the plot. In fact Wolverine Origins felt a lot like Transformers 1 in it's story telling. TF2 took a little more time with it's story telling.
The level of hate for TF2 is reserved for a seriously flawed film and Wolverine Origins is seriously flawed. If people still found enjoyment despite the flaws thats fine but what i'm doing is comparing the 2 films technically and measuring the hate response for both.

I actually liked the movie... Lol

But I wasn't paying attention to the plot holes and stuff. I just went with my friends to have a good time and we did. Although sometimes I felt like it was dragging on a little, we still had a great time. My favorite thing about the movie though was the music. I loved how they kept changing New Divide... Haha.

See now you sound like one of them... I couldn't see anything wrong with Wolverine which was right with Transformers at all. It's just personal preference. I thought Wolverine was better than the previous 3 X-Men movies even.

I personally cannot see how anyone who liked the first one wouldn't like the second one. TF2 is just TF1 but louder and funnier.

I think it was that the first one was an intruduction to the franchise and you could relate to the characters with discovering whats going on and it was hour and half long, even if the plot wasn't so great it wasn't revealed yet so it was interesting to watch + the CG was amazing

The second one there was nothing new even the allspark makes it back wich was retarded, the two racist robots were annoying, the little one was annoying and not funny and the plot was retarded so I couldn't care less if the robots were fighting because I forgot what they were fighting for between dogs humping, robot humping megan fox and that Sam went to collage that was located in the state of Michael Bay land where terminators also study and was populated with hot chicks with the same bland "personality" and jock douchbags wich mostly saw the movie because megan fox was in it (she's not that great actress..but wait!!,she's HOT!, so? I have free porn online). These are the people I think who couldn't sit through watchmen because it was too complex for them and complained about dr. manhattans penis

First off, you make it sound like TF2 is too long, yet this movie is only six minutes longer then the first film (150 minutes vs. 144 minutes).

Just because you like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen does not mean you can't appreciate quality film making, which is Watchmen.

I've seen this movie twice now and I have to say seeing it a second time, I liked it better. I don't know if it was the imax experience or something, but all this is is just a fun film that I had a fun time with and almost everyone did in the theater as well (except they were laughing at parts that I didn't find in any way, shape, or form, funny). I also loved that forest fight scene, that was undoubtedly the best scene in that movie. I think it went downhill from there, but I still had fun.

I had a lot of problems with the movie, but still enjoyed it.  Now for the third one, we need to, well....

You know what, just give me the camera, I'll handle it.   Cheesy
