I dare you to say that this movie was bad. I double dare you! Lips sealed

Just watched it yesterday, finally. Now I see why people keep talking about it. It's every serial killer story in one. And Hopkins was amazing.

Fantastic movie.  But I love Hannibal just as much.  Red Dragon is also very good, but my least favorite of the three.

I remember when I first saw this movie. It was on the American Movie Classics channel and my mom said that it was one of the best movies she had ever seen, my step dad said he hated it. He must have been on drugs becuase this is easily one of the greatest movies in the thriller genre.

I watched the scene where Buffalo Bill turns the lights out on Jodie Fosters character in amazement of the suspense and the tension it built. Another memorable scene is a classic one, when Hannibal escapes from from the jail. Unfortunately, I never got around to watching Manhunter, Hannibal, Red Dragon or Hannibal Rising Sad

Thats all the time I have to talk about this movie. I got to go. I'm having an old friend for dinner.

When I watched the *spoiler* Hannibal escaping from jail episode, I don't now why, but I immediatley guessed that he was in the ambulance, the new Texas Masscare movie helped with that (the scene whre Leatherface creates his leather face out of that dudes face) *end spoiler*

I've only watched Hannibal Rising (was pleasantly surprised, even thoguh I saw Lambs after), but I'm planning on watching the others aswell.

Leatherface got nothing on Hannibal. His escape was genius and brutal. I remember seeing that movie not knowing what to expect, the fact that he peeled a guys face off and put it on top of his own is just something so incredibly evil that only someone completely devoid of human emotion could do it and how this movie showed us this about Hannibal all before escaping was the brilliance of the film. Truly a classic. Red Dragon was crap/ Ratner screwed that one. I've read the books and Ratner didn't even come close.

I found somebody online to say something bad about this movie, of all places Rotten Tomatoes brings out some of the most interesting reviewers. Let's see what this one has to say shall we?

An accomplished, effective, grisly, and exceptionally sick slasher film that I can't with any conscience recommend, because the purposes to which it places its considerable ingenuity are ultimately rather foul.~Jonathan Rosenbaum

Now don't take this as "oh Rotten Tomatoes is such a bitch site" because this is one of only two bad reviews by paid reviewers of Silence of the Lambs on Rotten Tomatoes.

But in the light of what he is talking about, I could agree with him that this movie is fucking gross, it is a gross movie. "Do you want to fuck me? I would fuck me, I would fuck me hard." But that grossness I believe gives this film character and with an already great murder mystery story, this film is edgy and full of great characters like Buffalo Bill, Hannibal & Clarice.
