Actually, it's alive and well in a new form. Take a look. Wink

For me, Blu-Ray depends on the movie. I love the clarity but while some (The Dark Knight, Watchmen, any animated movie) are stunning in how much sharper they look than a DVD, others just look like a slightly clearer version of the DVD. Some of them are noticeably clearer only if you just watched a DVD beforehand, others are instantly amazing.

Either way I've found most movies benefit from being on a Blu-Ray Disc. Silent Hill is a movie I love, but it's very grainy and foggy, so it doesn't have that "wow, this looks good" effect when you fire up the BD and yet it gives the movie so much texture, being able to see more detail in the monsters and sets brings the film to life in a strange kind of way. A non-film-fan would probably not be able to tell you the difference between the DVD and the BD of Silent Hill (aside from one or two wide shots) but they would say somehow they felt more immersed in the film.

Watchmen, however... Damn! It looks phenomenal, especially the Dr. Manhattan scenes. Looking forward to checking out the Transformers movies in this format too.

I thought it was fine. The monsters were great and the Kraken is the most epic thing to ever be done with CG. The giant scorpions were awesome too. It's an effects movie and the effects were great, so I say it did what it set out to do.

I grew up with the original and it wasn't exactly any deeper than this movie.

Now they need to do Jason and the Argonauts. Tongue

You know what, the kids loved all those movies you listed. And you know who they were aimed at? Kids! So this whole thing is pointless.

Long way away, bit it's gonna be ace I'm sure. Unicron confirmed!

The second movie I hated when I saw (the first half) at the theatre, because I couldn't work out what the heck was going on, but catching it again on TV with the smaller screen I was able to follow who was doing what, which robot was where etc. and had a great time with it.

I'm hoping the 3rd will be 3D, because I think a bit of depth perception could go a long way in helping me assess which robot is where and who is doing what in those crazy action sequences.

If you like this movie you need to reassess your life because you're dragging society down.
If you ask me, anybody who says that to another person needs to reassess their own life. Rage, you're normally a cool guy, so I'm not going to give you a roasting for this. I think you'd benefit from watching Fury's Vampires Suck video.

I don't really care what colour he is, just hire the guy whose best for the part. But really, do it for that reason, don't say "we want a black Spider-Man" and hire a black actor. Have a black Spider-Man if the best and most well-suited actor who auditions for him happens to be black. Problem is then you have to narrow down the auditions for Aunt May and Uncle Ben for consistency's sake.

Then again we all say 'we don't want to see a character change ethnicity', but look at Nick Fury. By modelling him on Samuel L. Jackson in the Ultimate comics they made him a thousand times more awesome. But they didn't say "I want Nick Fury black", they just picked Jackson as the person they wanted to base his Ultimate design on, and the skin colour/race was part of the package.

My two favourite ending is V For Vendetta. Great movies just don't get happy endings, which suchs, but V For Vendetta blows that apart.

I'm sorry but Titanic is a titanic waste of time. Instead of focusing on the actual disaster, we have to watch those 2 lovebirds for an hour and a half before we get to the good stuff. The effects also look like crap now.

That's so weird because most people complain about the exact opposite in most of the movies I liked. "They spent all the time on the action in this movie and didn't do enough with the characters in this action movie which is not a drama movie"

What kinda sucks is it put people off Exorcist III, which was a brilliant movie.
