I haven't seen American Beauty so I picked Titanic.  That, and there are a lot of reasons as to why I think it's overrated, but Confused Matthew can do that for me

I'm sorry but Titanic is a titanic waste of time. Instead of focusing on the actual disaster, we have to watch those 2 lovebirds for an hour and a half before we get to the good stuff. The effects also look like crap now.

I agree with RabidScotsman.
Titanic is a waste of time, though I think the film is alright in sense of film making, it's not a movie I can watch over and over again. It's three hours of mooshy love on the titanic! For god sakes, focus more on the disaster instead of two random passengers, with a "love" connection. In all seriousness though, it is far better than Twilight(the film). I think the film was named "Titanic" simply for an increase of revenue. People walk into the theatre thinking they are going to be taught a history lesson, but instead are forced to watch Leonardo DiCaprio, yet again, score with another chick.
I haven't seen American Beauty, and don't plan to either.

For the poll, Titanic gets my vote. But I'm not entirely sure that those two films are one of the most overrated. I would say The Dark Knight and 2001: A Space Odyssey are.
